The Carbon Trust is a not-for-profit company with the mission to accelerate the move to a low carbon economy. It provides specialist support to businesses and the public sector to help cut carbon emissions, save energy and commercialise low carbon technologies.
InSource Energy was created by the Carbon Trust’s commercial arm, Carbon Trust Enterprises Limited (CTEL) to provide partners with co-investment and strategic opportunities.
SSE's (Scottish and Southern Energy) core purpose is to provide the energy people need in a reliable and sustainable way.
With a strategy to deliver sustained growth in
the dividend payable to shareholders, SSE
have efficient operation of, and
investment in, a balanced range of regulated and non-regulated businesses.
To help achieve this, SSE have plans to invest around £6.7 billion between
2008 and 2013. The principal focus of this investment is renewable energy, but
investment is also planned in thermal generation, electricity networks and in
other areas.
